Ma’s Taco Salad

Hey all you food lovers,

This one is certainly worth checking out! Last night my fam and I sat down to a beautiful candle-lit dinner and enjoyed my mom’s famous taco salad. It’s such a simple meal, yet such a scrumptious crowd pleaser. She is one of the best cooks in town (aside from my grandma, of course), and she always knows how to make her daughter happy-through food! This salad is one of my favorites. All it is is: romaine lettuce topped with ground turkey meat, crumbled Mexican cheese, tomatoes, pinto beans, avocado, and crunched up tortilla chips. My mom makes this sauce that goes perfectly with the salad, and all that includes is non-fat greek yogurt, salsa, and just a tad of mayonnaise. So simple! I definitely recommend trying this one out. We sat down to dinner with a little Bon Iver playing in the background (a family favorite). We usually play music on Pandora at dinner, and it gives you a whole array of different songs!

My mom’s recipe is a little simpler than this taco salad recipe, but this sure looks delish!

Birthday gal

Hello splendid followers!

I’m sorry I haven’t posted this last week, it was spring break and I have been on vacation (be looking for a post soon!) and adventuring with the pals. The week before I left, I did a “Crafty creations” post that included a few knick knacks I made for my friend’s birthday, which we celebrated the Friday before I left. It was a scrumptious dinner with such a pretty set up, and it was a great night with the gals.

Olivia is my girl friend’s name, and she did all of the decorating for the dinner herself. She had homemade bath salts in the neatest little bottles, and tie-dye hair ties that she made herself as well for each of us to take home. There were other crafty little trinkets around the tables that were homemade too; I just loved the whole thing. If you want a party designer…Olivia’s your girl.

My birthday is coming up in a couple months and I’d like to do something that lives up to this beauty…If you have any suggestions or inspiration for me let me know!
